I made a backup disk when I had XP pro. Now I have Vista and I can't figure out how to open the files that I backed up. Can you help me? Actually they are game files that I bought on an old 31/2 floppy and wanted to keep.

Thanks for the info, but my old computer crashed so I can't use the Ease Windows Transfer; but I am glad to know about it. I used the systems tools backup program and backed the files up on a CD-ROM. Do you know what to do in this case?

Yes, the backup program included with xp is 'ntbackup'. Follow the link in the article above to install the NTBackup - Restore Utility.

Althought, the ntbackup utility in xp couldn't backup directly to a cd. Hopefully you verified that the files are actually there. The file extension for an ntbackup file is .bks
