We are trying to login to AIX 5.2, I can read my .profile, and after that nothing happens. I know my password is right...

BTW, another admin is logged in, but he is the only one who can login....

WIERD!

Does the other admin use the same .profile? What is in the .profile?

yes...the other sysadmin has the same exact .profile, and credentials.

hmm, the system was just rebooted I will check on the /etc/nologin!

thanks for the quick replies!

No nfs mount hung on some dir you are trying to cd into from your .profile?

HTH,

Hi,

System reboot will remove the /etc/nologin file automatically.

Login as root and edit the personal user .profile and comment all. try one by one uncommenting to figure out which one causing the issue.

I guess, is not something funny spaces set for PS1 variable in your .profile.

Hope it helps.

okay...it seems to be a JFS + Fibercard issue, according to IBM support...so we are waiting for this to happen again.
