Can't install HP Colorado Backup II in Windows XP

I just bought a Gateway 710 series computer and attempted to install HP Colorado Backup II. I got a message saying that I had insufficient memory. This is patently nosensical, since it worked on my old fossil Gateway 2000. Might there be something about Windows XP that doesn't like HP Colorado Backup II?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you have Extern unit:
MS XP do not support HP Colorado Backup II 8GB Extern unit. And HP has not written driver for extern backup unit.
