can't hear audio from timeline - premiere 6

Please help! Audio will not playback from timeline. I know it's there, I have the waveform. I can hear the audio when I scrub the timeline and when I export to movie. I cannot hear the audio in either the source or program windows.
I'm working with premiere 6 on a windows machine.

Check Project - Project Settings - General - Playback Settings. You may have audio going out only to play out and not to play on your desk top. There should be a couple of settings that you can change and see what happens. I have Matrox RT along with my Premiere so I can't give you the exact settings, because mine is different.
