hi,
i downloaded some software from a music (mp3) company that didnt work.
i can delete the icon from the desktop but when i re boot it appears again.
if you look at the icon properties it says its linked to the .dll file.
how do i delete it without deleting the .dll file.?

cheers simon

Go to start run and in the white box type msconfig. Then select the startup tab. Uncheck the item you do not want to start and you should be able to delete it. You will need to right clikc on the icon and select properties, then select find target. Note the path and then use the Windows 98 boot disk to start you computer. Once started in dos delete all of the files. If it is Kazaa it is a TROJAN

I highly suggest installing spybot, updating it, then scanning for spywares too...

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
