Can't get pass the "Bringing up loopback interface" ???

Hello Folks,

My Linux box froze up so I had to kill it. Now when I reboot it, it is freezing at the check for the "Bringing up loopback interface" , what can I do to fix it? Or how can I save my files that aren't backed up on it ? Please help !!

Boot into single user mode to get the files and burn them onto a CD or put them on a floppy. From there you can also try to bring up your interfaces and get more debugging output.
