Hi all. I'm sure this is an easy one but I've got a real good block tonight. Upgraded a 2511's Boot ROMs to Version 11.0 <10c>XB2. Now when I cycle the router I get the following prompt: 2511(boot). (Hostname is 2511). Can't seem to get to a non-boot prompt. I know I have done this before but can't remember what is wrong. Also was this the last boot ROM upgrade available?
The configuration register is 0x2102. Thanks in advance for any help! TSupportEngineer

Actually, it sounds like the config register is 2101...try this anyway---humor me...
2511(boot)config term
config-reg 0x2102
^z (ctrl-z)
reload
If this does not work, you may have to reload (tftp) the image back to flash---I cannot remember. The last thing if all else fails that I would do is put the old bootROM back...I have a 2503, and the ROM says
ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 11.0(10c), SOFTWARE
BOOTFLASH: 3000 Bootstrap Software (IGS-BOOT-R), Version 11.0(10c), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Hope this helps...

Burt

Burt, I'll humor you anytime. But that wasn't the problem. I tried changing the config register but it didn't help. It seems it was showing 0x2102 correctly. However I did try another Flash stick - VOILA! The flash I used when I upgraded was blank, unknowingly to me - it was in with a couple spares I kept that I knew were good. Should have figured that from router101... the prompt was showing <boot> due to the fact it couldn't load from flash so went to ROM for the mini version. I just was in a brain freeze. You of course were correct about loading from TFTP, that would work, was just in a hurry so tried a backup flash memory.
Thank you very much for your time, I hope this also helps others!
