I'm trying to get a quark passport 8.5x11 document to print borderless on a new canon i960 printer.

Whatever I do I still get a white border.

I've extended the image onto the pasteboard. Changed the border. Still nothing.

The problem I think is that I can't access the bleed pane in the page layout. I've checked the xtension manager and it says the custombleed is properly loaded.

Any ideas what it might be?

Does this printer support printing all the way to the edge?

Are you using paper larger than US letter sized to achieve the bleed? It seems that this printer does not support paper over 8.5x11 - so no - you cannot achieve a bleed on a letter-sized quark document.

The printer supports borderless printing up to 8.5 x 11.

With other software you can get it to print to the edge of an 8.5x11 but I can't seem to get it to work with quark.

Does the other software support bleeds?

Bleeds from Quark are different than printing to the edge of the page with other software on your computer. Quark must define a larger page to create a bleed. The hang-up might be that you are lacking the proper PPD file to place in Quark's installation.

You might be able to get away with generating a PDF file from Quark and printing that PDF file to the edge of the page using Adobe Reader.

Also sounds to me that if you can't even access the Bleed option within the Quark Print dialog box, your printer isn't PostScript. Not sure why that would matter if it's supposed to be able to print borderless.... I'd try jimoblak's suggestion with the pdf, since you mention that it works from other programs.
