Hi, Mates, I got a little problem here.
I use Vmware to build a Netware(6+sp3) server and a Windows Xp(sp2) in a small network.
The fixed IP was fine and there was no problem on pinging from client(10.1.1.2) to server(10.1.1.100). The DNS is also fine. It can resolve the server name as long as I told the client computer the address of DNS server.
I installed the DHCP by set paraments via iManager and DHCP/DNS management tool and type dhcpsrvr to active the DHCP and DNS server. I built a subnet (10.1.1.128, submask 255.255.255.128) and a subnet pool which contains this subnet.
Everything is just fine but the client computer can't get the IP address from the server. It's only 169.XXX.XXX.XXX.
The server (10.1.1.100) is my second server which has the same DHCP problem with the first server (10.1.1.1). I thought maybe I installed too many things on the first server, therefore, I shutdown the first and reinstall netware on the second. But the problem is still with me.
Can you guide me out of the puzzle?
Thank you :>
