can't get client to ping other gateway on the same router

I'm trying to get a client on each respective network to ping the others gateway, but it's not happening. What am I missing???

Here's how my 2514 is setup:

interface Ethernet0
ip address 172.21.101.1 255.255.255.0
no ip directed-broadcast
!
interface Ethernet1
ip address 172.22.102.1 255.255.255.0
no ip directed-broadcast

Gateway of last resort is not set

172.21.0.0/24 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 172.21.101.0 is directly connected, Ethernet0
172.22.0.0/24 is subnetted, 1 subnets
C 172.22.102.0 is directly connected, Ethernet1

Do you have both clients pointing to the router as a default gateway? They should point to the interface that is on their own subnet.
