I just thought of another question...could my problem be related to a current config? This was a router pulled from a production network....I guess I was stupid for not clearing it right when i got it...sorry....
All ive done so far is..:
erase startup-config (i think that was the command) and I issued a reload and copied the running config to start...
I don't know if that would do the trick...sorry for the incredibly large gaps in my knowledge...but I'm just learning....
