Can anyone advise on how to enter CMOS on Compaq Prosignia 200 Server? This is a used machine I just picked up that runs great with Win2000 Professional however I want to boot from CD to format and reinstall Red Hat Linux 7.0 Server and Apache to use this box as a Web Page Server for the internet. Can't seem to find the right key combination to enter CMOS at startup?? Tried the norms (Esc, F10, F12, DEL) but none seem to be right. Also, does anyone have experience with the Prosignia 200's especially as a web server? The machine seems really stable but would like some feedback.

Thanks

Maybe the setup program is not there any more. Alot of thier machines had a partition with the setup data stored in it, including the launcher program that responded to F10 or whatever was written on the compaq logo screen with the hourglass.

If the drive was FDISK'ed for a fresh install it may have been removed.

You can usually download the program from Compaq's website, and run it from a floppy.

it's f10, but they pu the bios program on the hard drive. if some fdisked it add a new hard drive it gone but you can put it back on go to compaqs web site support and the diag program for it the the bios program it takes to floppys to install So long and thanks for all the fish.

I have this same problem with a Prosignia 200. Pressing F10 it says "system partition not available". Going to Compaq's support site, could not find a utility to go into CMOS settings. They had upgrades for the BIOS, but I didn't want to upgrade it at this time. I was wondering if someone knows the name of the BIOS file or where it can be downloaded?
We're eventually trying to install an external modem on the serial port, and would like to look at the serial port configuration to find out why the modem is not detected.

As mentioned it is F10 when you boot the pc. But, your not supposed to hold it. Instead keep taping it until it lets you in. But if you dont have the 3mb non-dos partion on your drive (were the setup files are stored), then you can put the the Diagnostics disk in the disk drive, reboot your system, and choose computer setup from the menu. That's if your computer came with a Diagnostics disk. If not I beleave the above file will make one for you.

Wait until the cursor is blinking on the top right of the screen, then press F10. Or you can try and force an error
at post which should then give you the F10 prompt.
