Hi

When I try to download anything from the web it opens the download box but then hangs and eventually says can't open the website. Even live update is hanging.

As far as windows update is concerned i'm up to date but there seems to be an issue with activeX controls and it keeps telling me I need to download a file. Also it tells me to click on an "information bar" under the address bar - I can see no information bar and no way to display it!

Any help gratefully appreciated!

Thanks

Marie

You might want to try this:

Tools>Internet Options>General>(Temporary Internet files) Settings>>View Objects

or go directly to

C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files

Right click>Update on the objects with status "Damaged". This will not fix every file but you may be lucky with some.

Windows Update = WUWebControl Class

It may also be a good idea to check the

Tools>Internet Options>Security>Internet

settings, although you should be getting a message if the security setting doesn't allow a download.
