I've been trying to configure an Exchange Server 5.5 to download mail from ISP for delivery to the LAN.

SMTP is working fine and internal delivery is working fine but I am unable to download mail from the ISP for delivery.

I have configured the POP3 protocol at the site and server levels and all mailboxes have permissions.

Telnet tells me that port 110 is ready and listening...

Any suggestions?

Ok Here is what you do.

Exchange is not able to pick up mail from your ISP. That is why it will not work.

The solution to the problem is using thirdparty software.

The software I use, there are others on the market, is POPCON from
The software is easy to install and pretty cheap.

You set it and you forget about it.

It really works like charm. Hope this Helps
