I have recently upgraded my clients from McAfee 4.5 to 7.
The only way I could find to get AutoUpdate to run correctly on each client was to download the whole of 'ftp.nai.com/commonupdater' to a central server and point the clients to it on their repository list. This worked fine (although it's a bit of a big download) for a while until recently when I got the error 'no valid repository' on all clients. I checked the central server and the problem seems to be that the subfolder 'commonupdater/current' failed to download at all. I do this manually when I receive an alert, that is I simply select all files on '/commonupdater' and copy them centrally. The problem is that I now can't see the /current folder on ftp.nai.com/commonupdater.
Sometimes, if I hit refresh on the browser lots of times, the /current folder re-appears! Is this an ftp setting?
Thanks,
Will.
