I'm using Outlook Express 6 with Win 98 SE and each time I get into email and start reading and deleting messages, after 1 or maybe 50 are deleted, it no longer will delete. The only way I can get it to start deleting again, is to re-boot the computer.
I've been trying to track the problem with no solution. I've reloaded the IE 6 a couple of times also.
I also have several emails with Flash that I can never delete, I have 12 or so that have accumulated over last couple of months.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,

Joe

Try holding the Shift key down as you delete .

Also use the compress/compact ( or whatever it is called in oe6 ) feature .

jmatt,
I tried both of the suggestions and it still acts the same.
Thanks,
Joe

Try repair 1st & then the next option if needed .

---------------------------

Repair IE6

------------------------------

Shut down OE .
Start > Find > Files or Folders & in the top space type dbx . Press Enter .

Now rename the dbx files where you have a problem , by right clicking on them .

Example .

Deleted Items.dbx becomes Deleted Items.old

It will create a new one , when you restart OE .

------------------------------------------------------

This may needed .

OE5 has a proprietary binary format that makes archiving
individual messages difficult. In addition, a number of
people have indicated that their message folders have
become corrupted and OE can not read them. Consequently,
they have lost all the messages in that folder.

DBXtract.exe extracts all mail and news messages from
individual dbx files. After extracting the messages one
can drag them from a Windows Explorer folder into an Outlook
Express mail folder.

PS. if you have a lot , make sure you nominate/create a folder , or you will have them all over
& off your desktop .
