Hi, I am using XP pro, it's not on a network, I just use it at home. I have created a user profile folder on one of the partitions and pointed my user account to this folder to create my pofile there but for some reason it started to not load my profile and now I can't access this folder or even delete it and I have admin rights. What should I do? At the moment I'm just working of the C: drive local profile.

I'm not saying this is a good idea, but if you're determined to delete a folder, and you're using FAT32, you can make a bootable floppy, and delete it the old fashioned way from the command prompt.

has some images you can download to save time; I think you can even make a 6-disk set of XP bootable floppies.

Two ways:

1. As administrator, right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, User Profiles, Settings. Highlight the profile and hit Delete.

2. In Safe Mode. You can use DOS commands. You may have to take ownership:

Thanks, I normally take ownership and that link showed my how to turn this option on, I have been using 2k for year and have my MCP and stuck in my ways :)
