Cant connect to local network 1

The computer is a HP Pavilion dv9000 running Windows XP Media Center Edition.

It is able to connect to the internet but cannot connect to network we have set up.

We tried putting it in the workgroup we have and it doesnt see any of the computers in the workgroup.

Any suggestions would help.
