I have a situation where on a windows 2000 machene, on a linksys router set up as a dhcp gateway. It assighns ip addresses to four computers. The one in question has an older intell pro 100 eithernet card. It says connected to network , it is seen on the dhcp clients list on the gateway, But it will not connect to the internet.

Any idears????????????

In Internet Properties > connections try unchecking all boxes and reboot

Try this:
1) Go to Start->Run, type cmd and hit OK
2) At the prompt type: ping www.google.com
3) Hit enter

If you get 4 good responses, then you're in business. It would indicate that your TCP/IP settings are properly configured and that the problem is probably an Internet Explorer setting.

If the above returns any errors, post back and list them.
