I need to be able to choose microsoft exchange server service when setting up a profile on a server which has not had Office installed. I only see Microsoft Mail and Internet Mail. I need to remotely configure our backup software on our servers to email notify, but installing MS Office and using Outlook is not an option. I have been able to recieve messages from the Outlook Express account, but to set it up with the backup program it needs to be configured through a MAPI compliant mail program. As long as the server has had Office installed on it previously, I can configure an Exchange Server profile, and it works. But we don't have the time to go around to every server and install Office to get that Microsoft Exchange Server service added. Is there any way to load that Exchange server service so that I can set up Outlook Express to use our exchange server?

It sounds like you have installed OL with the Internet Only option. To get the MS Exchange Server service, you have to install OL w/the Corporate or Workgroup option.

Did this help?

No longer an issue. I wasn't thinking. I did not have the messaging service installed. Once I did that I was able to configure Outlook Express to do what I needed it to. Thanks for the help though.
