Can't change text color using Photoshop 6.0

Open the Character Window, select the text and then clcik on teh color box in the character window. If you wnat to use a swatch ratehr than color picker, open your swatch window and click on teh color you want.
You also have to check your Layers window to make sure you're working on the text layer you created.
