I have received a Word document from a European consultant.
There were no automatic dates in the document.
Whenever I work on a document, I always add a footer with the date (using insert date), page number and document name, if they are not already there.
When I did this, the date appeared in European format (dd/mm/yyyy). I right clicked on the field and selected Edit Field. It shows that the field name is "date" and the format is dd/mm/yyyy. I looked in the Field properties for the US format but couldn't find it. So I decided to go custom and manually entered "mm/dd/yyyy". When I did so, the date appears funny. I have done it multiple times and instead of getting 06/12/2008 I have gotten 07/12/2008, 08/12/2008, 09/12/2008 and 29/12/2008.
So, how do I change this European date to US date format?
Thanks,
Deb
