We have 2000 server with XP and 2000pro clients, having set up a dedicated NIC for our router/firewall, I inadvertently removed 'file & printer sharing' instead of just unchecking it on the router NIC.

This removed it entirely from the server, after reinstalling clients can log on but can't browse the network or any shared folders, even after resetting folder shares.

Any ideas welcome
Many thanks

Should be security problem, what rights did you give to the share you've re-created ?

Thanks but although I was pushed for time, I am pretty sure I gave full control to everyone as a starter.

The problem seems to be more with getting access to the server at all, from a client machine you can see the domain but nothing further ? access denied permissions may not be granted etc.

Thanks for the advice, ultimately it seems all I needed was time, since following a re-boot and a refreshed browser list everything works fine.

now all I am left with is a userenv error 1000, but that's another post
