Can't boot in Normal mode - only safe mode

Please help.

a friend of mine is having a lot of problems with her PC.
She can only boot in safe mode. if you go into the boot mode menu and select Normal it starts to load windows, but then stops and says "It is now safe to turn off your computer" and keeps doing each time.

any suggetions??

first boot in the safe mode
right click my computer and select properties
in the last pane find out the problem it is giving
it must be giving a message.
write it down and post it here
maybe then i or someone among us may help u

If you can boot in safe mode,
Try to uninstall
1. The last installed software uninstallation under controlpanel-add/remove programme.

2. If any hardware added before this, need to be uninstalled..

3. Look in the control panel/device manager for any yellow question marks. Those itmes can be removed for installation on subsequent boot.

Then restart Win98, and when asked for any driver installation, try cancelling it and then see if it boots ok. If yes, restart again and do the installation one at a time to identify the problem source.
