I have seen that there are many problems with small networks using Windows. I can't find my particular problem in the old threads. I have two computers at home. One wireless laptop, and one desktop. I am conneting the computers and the modem through a router. My desktop seems to be set up on the workgroup correctly - I can get to it from my laptop. My problem is that I can't seem to add my laptop to the workgroup. I have been through the wizard, and the system properties says that the computer belongs to the workgroup. But when I look at the worgroup computers, my laptop is not listed. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Hide Workstation from Network Browser Listing (this is not normally listed in the Registry, but if it was it could explain this type of problem).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters

Value of Hidden = 0 or 1 (1 = hide) in XP
