One of the clients on our network has just been installed on to XP Pro and uses Outlook 2000 as their mail handler, they want to add a signature to their mail but the signature picker is greyed out, through exchange I have permission to log on to their account, when I log on to their system as myself and then log into their account this button is not greyed out, I added a signature but it doesn't show up when they are logged on, where does the signature file save to? Perhaps the issue is with the permissions on this folder?. I have even tried giving the user administration rights but the box is stilled greyed out.
I don't have this problem with any other client running XP pro.
Anybody know why??

Gwinto,

This is because from Tools==>options==>Mail Format
From here you have "Use Microsoft word to edit email messages" checked. So if you want to use Microsoft Word you have to set up the signature in word. You do this by opening up your Microsoft Word document. From within Microsoft Word, click on ==>Tools==>Options==>General (At the bottom of the General tab)==>Click on "Email Options"==>You will have 2 tabs here. The Email Signature is the first tab. You can create your email signatures for new mail messages and for reply or forward messages.

The second tab is the "Personal Stationary Tab". By default this is at a 10 font. If you want to adjust the font size for your email messages when you send new, or reply and forward, you can change the font size here.

Now if you don't want to use Microsoft Word as your email editor you just simply uncheck from the outlook, tools, options, mail format tab and then you will see the signature picker will not be greyed out.

Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

Zoe
