This one's perplexed me for years. It's not only on 2K Server but this instance is.

I have 3 files that were pushed to my server via FTP like a month ago. My interface program reads these files as they arrive and does it thing with them then deletes them from the system. However, I have 3 files that have been there for 3 weeks. When I try to rename/move/delete them I get a sharing violation message saying that the file may in use. Nothing I can see using the files, certainly not my program. Before I try a reboot, which may/may not work, I want to try to understand what's going on. Is there a way to see what's "locking" a file(s) in Windows? I've seen this before and found like a million possibilities. Can anyone help narrow this down?

Thanks,

Thanks.

That's exactly what I needed.
My FTP server program was holding those files for some reason.

Thanks Again!!
