i have a linux webserver with a static ip address on the internal company network. when i connect to the windows vpn from home i cannot access the server with http or ssh. i get a ip address on the internal network and can ping the server from home successfully and can ping my home computer that is logged onto the vpn from the server. we have other webservers on the internal network that are accessible. I'm not really sure what needs to be configured on the firewall, vpn server or linux webserver to allow the http or ssh connections. The firewall doesn't seem to be the issue if i can ping to and from.

Any help would be appreciated!

Have you checked your event logs or error logs to see if something is blocking it? I had a similar problem, and my vpn showed that I was getting through, but wasn't authenticating. Figured out the rites issue, problem solved. You may have a different problem, but checking log files is always a good place to start.

there are no errors in the vpn log or firewall log. Is it something with...
iptables
nat
ppp
pppoe
something not installed
hosts
hosts.allow

i have no clue why it doesn't connect. this seems like a simple problem. from work it is fine. from home over the vpn the only thing you can do is ping it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
