Can't access CD rom

This is weird. When I put in a commercial cd-rom with autorun (like an AOL disk) it starts up perfectly. However, when I try to access the cd from RUN or My Computer or Windows Explore, I get the message about the drive is not ready. No matter how many times I hit the retry key, it still does not access it. Any suggestions?

you mind find this odd but try tilting the drive at an angle ( e.g. put a book ( MCSE TCP/IP is a good one !) under your PC ) [sig][/sig]
