Canon i850 3rd party printer cartridges

I have a Canon i850 printer, I like it a lot. I also have a Canon S750 printer as well.

The question is about third party ink cartridges. What success has anyone has with purchasing non-Canon, 3rd party ink cartridges ? If anyone has found a good vendor, please let me know. It would be great to save some money on printing costs, but not at the sake of lost quality.

Hi Jon,

I used to repair printers. One of the biggest problems with bubble jet printers was the impurities in the 3rd party inks. They would destory the print head and sometime the ink feed systems(purge). To be honest it was in the early 90's, at least 8 years ago. I do not know about these days, maybe thrid party ink has gotten better. Just so you know, using 3rd party inks does void your warranty (well 8 years ago it did). All things to think about.

I do work for a manufacture so I am not to be trusted however I do not work with bubble jet printers and I do not make any money on supplies. (I am a network support person these days) It doesn't effect me one way or another but I always get flamed when ever I post this information.

That is to bad that you were flamed in the past for posting things from your experience, you certainly seem very sincere.

I have asked my question because in years past, I have had experiences with third party toner on lasers.

I know that you are correct about the effect of some ink and ink cartridges that are poorly made.
That is why I posted what I posted, I would really like to hear about the experiences of others and if there are some reliable third party companies who product Canon cartridges with ink who are good.
