Hi,

just a simple question for u guys..

I have IIS on W2K server..The IIS Admin service service is running fine.

I have 2 files (index1.asp and index2.html)that I have put in C:\Inetpub\
I can view the HTML file in my IE6.0 browser without any problem but I can't view the asp one and I am getting a "HTTP 500 Internal server error".

Thanks in advance for ur help,
Kev

If you haven't done so already, in Internet Explorer choose Tools>Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab, and uncheck Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages. Then load your page again and you'll get a more detailed error, probably telling you what line number the problem is on.

Thanks...ASP file are now running fine...

I unchecked "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages" as u said, then read the detailed error message which says to check the event viewer.

The problem was that IWAM_computername was disabled..I enabled it..and ASP files are now running fine..

Thanks Genimuse,
Kev
