I have Outlook 2003. Until two days ago when my fiance changed jobs (and her email address). I went and changed it. Now when I type in addresses in the TO field, it will only recognize people in my company's global address book, and those contact that I frequently type. When I go to send an email to someone I don't normally write to much, or my fiances new address, it cannot automatically find the contact, and when I go to find it to put in the TO field manually, it will not give me the option in the pulldown on the address book like it used to to select contacts.

When i open the address book and go under options, it will not give me the option to add Contacts to the searchable list of addresses either. What gives?

Do you have the option under View to turn on "Folder List?" If so, can you see the Contacts folder from there? Can you see the Contact folder at all, even in the Outlook Shortcuts list or is the problem that you just can't choose it from within the message? ~Gayle

I can get to them outside a message, but once I open one and I would like to address an email to one of them, I can't...

In Outlook click TOOLS --> ADDRESS BOOK. When the address book window pops up click TOOLS --> OPTIONS

Make sure that the list box at the bottom of the screen includes all the address lists you want to use to check names against.

Rollin

Contacts are not in that list, and if I go to add it, it does not give me the option to.

Figured it out....

Go to TOOLS - EMAIL ACCOUNTS - View or Change Existing directories.... - Add - Outlook address book.

Not sure why it just disappeared all of a sudden, by after the program prompting me to restart it, I can now see them!
