I have a 2501 router which does not accept keystrokes (I get as far as the prompt for the initial config and thats it). The nvram was cleared about 4 months ago, prior to taking the router home from my ccna classes, and the console settings SHOUDN'T have been messed with. Even if thats the problem, i cant figure them out. Could this be the rollover cable or rj-45-db9 coverter, and if not what?

This is what the router displays (all of which is fine), then thats it:

can anyone help me?

I would check your cable and DB connectors on antoher system to verify that they are in good working order and of course double checking all hyperterm settings . Also I have seen problems like yours from Windows XP workstations.
