Cannot select anything in Quark

After working in Quark for awhile, suddenly I cannot select anything with the text tool nor the pointer tool. Cannot highlight, type, make a text box, etc. My Mac is not frozen; just the entire document window seems to be. The cursor moves around freely; it just won't select anything. The only thing that seems to work is SAVE with the keyboard command. So, I quit and restart and work awhile until it happens again. It has been 3 times in 2 hours that this has happened. In between everything works fine. Has not been a problem before.

Any insight to this?

You might try disabling all your Quark xtensions and see if things improve. If the do, turn on one or two xtensions at a time until things go bad again, to see if it's a problem with a particlular one.

If things don't improve, it could just be a problems with your Quark preferences. You could quit Quark, trash your prefs, and relaunch to see if that helps.
