I have a webserver running Windows 2003 Server. It naturally has an external IP address as well as an internal IP.
From outside our network, I can hit the server fine. When I'm on our network at work, the only way I can view the website is to add a hosts entry to my computer pointing to the internal IP address. Why is this? Is there a way to set up IIS so that anyone will be able to view it from both internal and external without having to go to each persons computer and modify their hosts file?
I know in exchange, you have a dns tab. I haven't found such a tab for IIS. Do I actually need to set up an internal dns server to deal with this problem?
Thanks.
