I have Windows 2000 profesional on a user PC with all the latest updates.
My problem is that I cannot search for files or folders. I click on 'start' > 'search' > 'files or folders', as soon as the search window appears, my windows explorer crashes. The search window disappears and all my icons in the bottom right hand corner are gone.
I have up-to-date virus software and a firewall. I've also run the blast fix tool just in case but it wasn't there.
There is no recently installed software and the user is unsure of how long its been happening. I did a Windows 2000 repair which fixed another problem that was occuring but had no effect on this one.
This has really stumped me, has anyone got any suggestions on this.
Cheers
