Im running Win XP Pro and Norton System Works 2004. Its been working fine for the last year and then all of a sudden I was unable to run a scan or anything that waits for antivirus scans (ie. Microsoft Word). I tried everything and finally ended up formatting and reinstalling everything. After only 4 days the same thing happened again. I can run a scan in safe mode and there are no viruses detected. I cant find any answers!!

Yes I am able to run live update, everything besides for the scan runs fine in system works. I even tried running a pre-scan off of the disk with updated virus defs and still no virus. When i go to the automated system support on the symantec website it tells me there are no problems!

if u want to reinstall againif you got time seeing its only 4 days old...do it but do not put service pack on!!! see if it works then apply service pack see if it stops i think i heard of this one a year ago
