Cannot restore netware files to windows 2000

I've got a trial copy of arcserve 11.1 and have installed it on a windows 2000 pc. I've got some old backup tapes which were backed up from a netware using arcserve 6.6

I want to be able to restore the files directly to windows 2000. I've merged the tape and tried to restore a couple files by session (1 .doc and 1 .ppt), it says succesful but when i open the word doc it says word cannot open it and when i open the powerpoint pres powerpoint can't open it.

Can anyone help?

Cross platform restore is not supported! Try to restore on a Netware machine and simply copy the restored files to the Windows 2K computer.

is there no other way or no other software i can use?! As we don't have netware anywhere anymore!

I've tried restoring it to a netware server and i get the same problem!

If the backup was taken from a compressed volume it needs to be restored to a compressed volume.

yeah i've just checked and it is compressed.
