cannot rename folders, within a subfolder

Hello,

I cannot rename the folders within a subfolder on my local HDD.

"renaming file or folder cannot rename new folder, it is being used by another person of programe close any programs that might be using it, and try again".

If i boot up in safe mode, then i can rename folders?

How do i find out what/who is using the folder?

. if the subfolder is part of a different user profile, this is "normal" and resolvable:

The local Admin is not all-powerfull.

. if you were attempting an Explorer renaming operation, likely you mis-spefied the global mask for the operation. Explorer found itself enumerating and renaming sub-folders or in fact active files.

. consider some of the many bulk renaming utilities. This, for example, is an excellent piece of freeware:
