Any ideas guys,

Cannot complete a phase 2 import for a backup image that is on one tape ...

Phase 1 completes successfully.

From bptm log I see

read_backup: successfully read (import) backup id ...

From admin log ...

bpimport: Imported 0 of 1 images successfully.
bpimport: Imported 1 of 1 images partially successfully.
bpimport: Status = the requested operation was partially successful.
bpimport: EXIT status = 1

The header file for the associated backup id is does not appear to have been updated by the phase 2 import. As far as I can tell, all the media has indergone the phase 1 import, only one tape required.

I'm thinking that there is either an imcomplete backup or damaged tape.

Backup was reported as successful.

perhaps the image spanned to a second tape?

No, I'm pretty sure it didn't ... however, just thought about restoring the header files from the hot catalogue backup, then I'll know for sure. If it didn't then I presume it's a lost cause as it, for whatever reason, is unable to read the full image in.

Thanks,

Martin

Increase the logging level for BPTM to 5, try the import again and analyze the bptm log to see if it logs any more info...just a thought!

Logging was level 5 ...

Anyway, kinda solved I think. The data was recovered using the netbackup tar command, however, it would work on individual files, but would not untar the lot in one go. So it would appear there was an issue with the tar file. It was the only image on the tape, and only used one tape, and not multiplexed.

One of those odd ones I think.

Thanks for the help and replies.
