Hello,

Here is the problem:

I just installed the newest version of microsfot word; I cannot open microsoft word documents that were created with an older version of microsoft, and that have very big titles (over 250 characters). When I double click the document, nothing happens. Same story if I try to delete or rename. All the other files with short titles open up fine.

Any clues?

A number of things to try...

Is the Word extension (.doc) visible at the end of the filename? If not:
In Explorer,
Tools > Folder Options > View tab
uncheck "Hide extensions..."

Check to see if the .doc extension is "associated" with Microsoft Word:
In Explorer,
View > Folder Options > File Types tab
...

If neither one of the above fixed the problem, and you have Norton Antivirus installed, disable NAV's Office Plug-in: See
If all else fails, re-register Word:
Start > Run
type: winword /r
Enter
