What could cause a file sent via email using Outlook Express to lose it's attributes?
We have a user that sends excel files. She's getting the file from the server and attaching it to her email.
BUt once the receiver tries to open the files, it says "access denied" or "cannot open file" or "file may be read-only" or it will open but there's nothing to see but a bunch of weird characters... we checked the file attributes and it's not set to read only. She can open the files from her computer just fine. But once she send them, even to herself and try to open it, she also gets the same error messages.
It's like the files change attributes or something once they pass through her email...
It used to work just fine and this just started happening recently. She has Norton anti-virus on her computer, Win 98, Outlook Express 6.
thanks!
