When logging on with the W2K Prof machine disconnected from the network with NT4 PDC, a change in the registry of \\HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\DeleteRoamingCache = 0 is kept after restarting the machine.
When connecting the machine to the network, and logging on to the domain with an NT4 PDC (and policies), I can change the above registry key to 0, but it will ALWAYS return to 1 after restart.
I already tried changing (on the NT4 PDC) the value in Poledit for Default Computer : "Windows NT User Profiles" : unmarking "Delete cached copies of roaming profiles". (Was marked before).
Yet no luck. Cannot keep the DeleteRoamingCache value to 0 on my W2K-prof machine after restart.
The idea was to keep a cached version of a mandatory roaming user profile, to copy it to a new roaming profile while granting a new group rights to it.
Any hints welcome ?
