Cannot navigate back to index.asp

Hi,
I have just installed IIS and placed a website into the default directory. When I go to

http://localhost/

in my browser it opens fine but when I try

http://localhost/index.asp,

I get "The page cannot be displayed". This also applies when navigating back from other pages to that relative link. What can this be?
