I am trying to backup 2 W2K servers and 2 SUN servers to a third SUN master server. The only server that completes successfully is the master server backing up itself. The other servers are getting a "Cannot make required directory, Exit Status 35" error. I do not see what directory it needs and I am trying to run it as root so there shouldn't be a permission issue.

Any ideas?

You should look at the All Log Entries report or Problems report to determine what directory/file it could not create and check the permissions on that directory. Common causes:

1. full disk on master where images folder is located
2. permissions on directory
3. Check netbackup/db/images for each client. If there is a sym link, ensure it still links to something. If there is supposed to be a symlink and there isn't, recreate it.

That's the most puzzling thing, neither log points to a particular directory. When NBU starts a backup, does it write a log on the client box, and does that directory need rights from the master?

Thanks for the reply Q? Are you Omega?

Thanks Qdog, number 3 was the culprit, missing link.
