Cannot log into Hotmail...Spyware???

I am having major difficulties logging into hotmail. All that happens is the waving windows flag for 30 seconds and then a "Cannot find server" window. I have two hotmail accounts and neither logs in.

I tried on a different computer and had no problems. I downloaded Spybot and HijackThis, also have run adaware and norton...any suggestions??

Issues accessing secure sites are tough.

The often reasons: the date/time on the computer workstation are not correct (they really have to be very close to correct date/time) or you have set under IE, Tools, Internet Options, Privacy tab, a too restrictive cookie handling policy.

If none of the above helps, work through the following as a checklist:

. the bcastner works usually workaround:

i) In IE, Tools, Internet Options, click to "delete files" under Internet Temporary Files.

ii). Create as a new notepad session (IE_fix.cmd) , or Start, Run, and enter each line as an individual entry:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll

still no luck, and curiously enough i cannot scan my computer for updates at the windows update page, nor can i place bids on ebay...this is getting weird

If you really went through the steps above and still have issues with secured sites, download and run Hijack This! and post the log here.
