I am trying to Join a WINNT 4.0/SP6a Workstation to WIN2000 Domain Controller. I'm receiving error "Cannot Join Domain, Domain Controller Cannot Be Located". I've renamed the computer. I've joined Workgroup. I've joined back into old Winnt 4.0 Domain - Works fine. I can ping DC. I can browse and see DC and domain. Any ideas, please let me know. Thanks

You are using the Active Directories NetBIOS name, and not the DNS name for the domain, yes? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

I'm using the Netbios name.

I believe you need to enter the DNS IP Address and DNS domain name on the ntworkstation. In other words if the Windows2000 domain controller (first domain controller that got created) is 192.168.1.1 then you need to enter that and also whatever the dns domain name you need to enter this information and then see if you can join the Windows2000 domain.
