Cannot get rid of Document Recovery

Good Morning,

I am running Windows 2000 with Office XP and I am having a strage issue. Every time I startup Word it prompts me that I have an autorecovered document, but when I try to delete it it says error reading from disk cannot delete and comes back every time. I tried searching for the file name and it is nowhere to be found. This is the same for all users that log into this machine. They get the same prompt about a recovered document. I even tried to turn auto recovery off and it still prompts me. Need some help please!
