I'm sorry I have to ask a simple question. I cannot get line numbers to show up for prg's or methods. I click on Edit/Properties and check Apply to Method Code with Save Preferences and no line numbers appear. If I go back to the Edit/Properties, my changes are gone. I can change the syntax coloring and that works fine. I tried deleting the foxuser files and that didn't help. They used to be there and I don't remember changing anything. VFP 9 and XP SP3.

I've turned Resource off and on several times. I've looked at the Foxuser files and watched as the file date/time changes as I make changes. I've deleted them and started with new ones. Very strange! My Foxuser file is in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\Microsoft\Visual FoxPro 9", is this the normal location? I just tried it again. I opened the Foxuser file and found 3 records with a type of "PREFW" that had been updated so the file is being updated. Then I Packed and Re-Indexed the file. Also when I closed the Edit Properties dialog, the word "Done" appears at the bottom of the Fox screen. It's been so long, where exactly are the line and column numbers displayed. Just noticed it doesn't work for Prg's either. Frustrating because I know this used to work. Any ideas besides re-installing Fox?

In my experience, this setting is never really saved, Also if your program "Sets Message..." or displays anything in the status bar, you will not see Line/column numbers even after you quit out. You have to reset by "Set Message To". Also you have to check properties for both Methods and Prg seperately.

Thanks ImagineCorp! Issuing "Set Message To" did the trick. I don't remember ever using this command, but this fixed the problem. Have a star.
