Cannot get ASP pages to upload

I have Windows XP pro. I've installed IIS5.1 from the Windows Components section. I've checked the application settings in the IIS console. But, I still cannot get asp pages to load. I have the same problem on both my laptop and desktop. Whatever I'm doing or not doing, I'm doing that twice.
Help.
